Moving Forwards

User Rating: / 3
ImageThis week I gave a speech at my local Toastmasters club on getting out of neutral. One of the key things you need to do is to take action to achieve your goals and dreams. Momentum is a force of nature. Newton's first law of motion is described as:

An object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

Photo Exhibition

Photo Exhibition

For the whole month of March 2006 I have an exhibit of photographs at the Terry Fox library in Port Coquitlam.

Any day during the month of March, you are welcome to visit the library during their open hours (see link above) and view some of my photographs. They were all taken in the local area.

This is my second public exhibition of my photographs. I have some other photographs on display in a Chinese restaurant in Langley, but so far noone has bought any there. I am more hopeful that this new exhibition at the library will lead to some sales of my work. The typical customer in the restaurant is not perhaps the sort of person to want to buy my photographs.

I hope you get a chance to visit. If you do, please send me an e-mail or leave a comment below, and tell me what you thought. I also plan to update this article with some pictures of the library with my photographs hanging there, so come back in a few days to see what's changed here.

In case you were not aware, this site was attacked by some hacker(s) recently. It was a mess to recover from.

There are a few things left to fix up, but it should be functioning ok. The content was not touched. Mostly the code was messed up and set to download some viruses from a russian web site.

Update: I now have restored the guestbook and comments features, with new anti-spam measures. Unfortunately previous comments were lost, unless I can recover them from a backup.

Nice Dice

User Rating: / 1

DiceI am an active practitioner of the mind-set that life is what you make of it. How a sentence is worded reveals a lot about an individual’s view on life. For example, the following three comments: a) “The glass is half-full”; b) “Today is partly sunny”; c) “I haven’t reached that point YET” are all of the TYPE of sentences that come out of my mouth on a regular basis. Another truism I totally buy into is “Perception is Reality”.

Don't Worry, Be Happy

User Rating: / 5
Happy Face There used to be a song of this title, and I think it is still excellent advice. Worrying about things does little to help you. Being happy will do you plenty of good. Happy people do much better, and live longer, and they have more fun.

Where to go from here?

User Rating: / 1
Image When writing articles, I often get hung up on the fact that others had covered a topic so well. I feel that to repeat them, would be a waste of effort. Perhaps I should just refer people to the relevant book or tape program for the answers.
