July 4th Paddle

On Saturday July 4th we were in Birch Bay (http://www.birchbaycabin.com), and decided to go for a paddle in the afternoon. We had to wait until the tide was in, since the bay is a shallow bay. When the tide is out, it goes a long way out. At low tide it is better to go digging for clams rather than trying to paddle.

Cycling Barnston Island

This Saturday we went to Barnston Island for a bike ride. The island is located in the Fraser river, just north of Surrey and south of the Pitt Meadows airport. You have to take your bikes over a small ferry to get to and from the island. The route around the island is about 10 km.

How is the economy affecting you? Have you noticed any changes? Until September I was working on a project for a large company, but when that finished they said there was no new work. I got the same response from lots of places.

I like my coffee, so much so that I buy green beans in bulk and roast them myself. That way I get the freshest coffee, and I can roast it the way I like.

Rather than a one off sale, try to make a lifelong
customer out of every customer. You spend far less effort to get
additional sales from your past customers than you do finding new
customers.

There is more than one way to let money block your success. You have to see it for what it is and overcome the roadblock.

Kayaking Alouette Lake 2008

As members of the Port Moody Canoe Kayak club, we organized a kayaking trip on Alouette Lake, here in British Columbia. Last year we launched at the boat ramp and went up through the narrows to the northern part of the lake. This trip we decided to start from Gold Creek, and camp at the northern end of the lake. We all arrived around 10 am.

A few years back, my car got stolen. In the trunk were all sorts of goal setting books and audio programs that I used in my coaching business. I wondered what would happen if the criminal(s) who stole my car actually read those books.
